Manna and the Eucharist
Exodus 16:15
"And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another: Manhu! which signifieth: What is this! for they knew not what it was. And Moses said to them: This is the bread, which the Lord hath given you to eat."
Matthew 17:12
"But I say to you, that Elias is already come, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they had a mind. So also the Son of man shall suffer from them."
John 6:31-33
"Our fathers did eat manna in the desert, as it is written: He gave them bread from heaven to eat. Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say to you; Moses gave you not bread from heaven, but my Father giveth you the true bread from heaven. For the bread of God is that which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life to the world."
John 6:51
"I am the living bread which came down from heaven."
Manna = Manhu = What is this! (they knew not what it was)
Jesus Christ, bread came down from heaven, which the Jews knew not.
